Welcome to Ocean Village Dental Clinic!

We believe that prevention is key!  The beauty of dentistry is that a lot of what often brings you to see us can be preventable.  So because of this, we place a huge amount of emphasis on preventing things such as halitosis (bad breath) to periodontal disease (gum disease), tooth decay to tooth loss.

We really listen to what has brought you to see us and make sure that whatever treatment you receive is tailored to your needs.

We provide all aspects of general dentistry from routine examinations, fillings, root canal treatments to extractions and more.  We also provide cosmetic dentistry, so we can also help you be happier with your smile. And that’s what we all want!

And look at that view when you’re sat in the chair! Relaxing, right?

Routine dental examinations allow us to monitor your dental health and pick up early signs of tooth decay and gum disease and treat these early before they become more serious and therefore more difficult to treat.  We also screen you for signs of mouth cancer.  This takes less than two minutes and makes up part of a routine dental examination.

It is really quite astonishing what can be picked up in the mouth, so don’t miss your regular examinations.

Your oral health is paramount to us, at any age.  Our main priority is to get you as healthy as we can by giving you the best advice and tools we can.  Your initial visit to us is 45 minutes long.  This gives us plenty of time to discuss your dental needs and aspirations.  We will discuss your dental history and get an idea of what you may have already experienced, be this good or bad.  We will discuss your current oral health care habits, your diet and your smoking and alcohol consumption.  This allows us to risk assess you for all the things that we are aiming to prevent, such as tooth decay, gum disease and oral cancer.

We will thoroughly examine your mouth including your soft tissues (such as your tongue, cheeks, gums, under the tongue and the roof of your mouth), your teeth and any existing restorations (fillings and crowns) that you may have, assess the bite of your teeth, check whether you are grinding your teeth or wearing them in an unhealthy way.  We will also take any necessary radiographs (x-rays) as well as photographs of your teeth and gums.  We also examine your head and neck lymph nodes (glands) and check that these are all healthy.

We will then discuss our findings with you and discuss any potential treatment that is recommended or that you are enquiring about.  Once you have had time to fully absorb all the information and your treatment options, we will see you for a follow up appointment to answer any questions you may have and get you booked in if you wish to go ahead.
